How Climb27 works for an investor

You tell us who you are.

Fill in the short form on this page. Once we have verified you, your ticket is issued, and you decide how you are presented and what you take part in.

You see who is coming.

Filter the companies attending by stage, sector and region and pick the ones worth a conversation. Nothing is pushed at you.

Founders request, you decide.

Every meeting request comes to you. Accept the ones you want, decline the rest. Opt in to Investor Speed Networking if you want a timed round with founders from your sectors.

You meet where it suits.

The investor lounge, a private bookable meeting space, or the Investor Ladder dinner. Your call.

01

Deal flow worth the time

Screening takes effort for very few deals, and cold pitches are the worst use of an afternoon.

The companies at Climb27 are already trading, hiring, raising or selling. You filter them, you accept the requests, and Investor Speed Networking is opt-in only.

  • Companies listed by stage, sector and region
  • Meeting requests you accept or decline
  • Short pitches on the main stage, no deck culture

Warm introductions and co-investors

02

Warm introductions and co-investors

Most angel investments come through referrals and networks, and syndicates form between people who know each other.

Verified investors are invited to the private Investor Ladder dinners and roundtables: investors only, where you can talk opportunities with people who are not asking you for anything.

  • Private Investor Ladder dinners and roundtables
  • Angels, funds and lenders at every step of the ladder
  • The VIP drinks reception, on us

03

A say in the room

Investors are asked to listen all day. Many have something to say.

Verified investors are often invited to share their views on our stages and in the workshops: what you actually look for, said to the founders who need to hear it. Tell us on the form if you would like to.

  • Speaking and panel invitations
  • Workshops run by investors, for founders
  • You control how you are presented in the ClimbGroup Event App

Who's in the room

ClimbUK is for companies already trading, hiring, raising or selling. That is the pipeline.

Scaling companies

What they bring
the growing businesses of the North and beyond: trading, hiring, raising, selling, and buying help to do it.
What they want
advisers, suppliers, investors and buyers who can move them on this year.

Companies raising equity

What they bring
a round in preparation or open now, a product in the market and a team behind it.
What they want
investors to build a relationship with, and advice on the pitch, the numbers and the terms.

University spinouts

What they bring
research-led products, a founding team and often a first round in preparation.
What they want
investors who understand deep tech, and industry partners to prove the market.

Other angels and funds

What they bring
capital at every step of the ladder, from first angel cheque to growth fund.
What they want
co-investors for the same companies, and a quiet word away from the pitching.

Banks and lenders

What they bring
debt, working capital and growth finance for companies that are already trading.
What they want
businesses with revenue and a plan, and the advisers who work with them.

Incubators and accelerators

What they bring
a cohort of founders, demo-day energy and a funder to report to.
What they want
investors, buyers and partners for their founders, and other programmes to work with.

How the two days work

30 June and 1 July 2027.
Doors open at 09:00; the evening runs as late as you do.

1

Before

Tell us who you are, get verified, receive your ticket. Set how you are presented, filter the companies attending, opt in to Speed Networking if you want it, and accept the requests that interest you.

2

Day one, 30 June

09:00: the grand opening performance and the headline partner announcements. Short pitches on the main stage and your accepted meetings in the investor lounge, then the VIP drinks reception and the ClimbAwards as our guest.

3

Day two, 1 July

Investor Speed Networking for those who opted in, more pitches and the follow-up meetings, and the private Investor Ladder dinner in the evening, alongside an unmissable Climb27 experience for everyone. Details to be announced soon.

4

After

Three in four people who come leave with follow-ups that matter: a sale, a partnership, an investment or funding. Yours start before you have left the building: every meeting and contact stays in your account, and the after parties finish the conversations the sessions started.

Business with a party. Not a party for business.

The festival aspect came second. ClimbUK grew out of the Investor Ladder events that have run since 2016, where founders and investors met because they had business to do. We are one of the first business festivals in the UK, built around that: the deals, the introductions and the advice come first, and the opening performance, the ClimbAwards, the drinks receptions and the after parties exist because business gets done faster between people who have enjoyed each other's company.

Investor Speed Networking

A timed round of short meetings with investors who opted in. No deck, no slides, a conversation.

ClimbAwards at the VIP drinks reception

One room, the businesses of the year and the people who back them. The ClimbAwards are handed out inside the VIP drinks reception, and that is the night everyone talks about.

Investor Ladder dinners

Private dinners and roundtables for verified investors only, running since 2016. Opportunities, co-investors, no pitching.

Still on the fence?

Yes. Verified investors attend Climb27 as our guests. Fill in the form, we check who you are, and your ticket is issued. The VIP drinks reception is included.

ClimbUK is for companies already trading, hiring, raising or selling. You see every company registered, with its profile, and you accept or decline every request.

No. You decide how you are presented and what you take part in. Speed Networking, the dinners and the speaking invitations are all opt-in.

Tick the box on the form, or opt in later from your account. We pair you with founders from your sectors for a timed round of short conversations on day two.

No. Founders request meetings; you accept or decline. Nothing reaches you without your say.

Climb27's programme is curated to what matters in the weeks before the event, and we publish each session once we are certain the room will benefit from it. Some events lock their agenda years out; by the time the doors open the world has moved. In fast-moving fields like AI, a session planned twelve months ahead teaches what every tool you use already does. We would rather hold the slot and fill it with what you need on the day. Tickets bought now cover the full programme, and the main stage moments are announced as they are confirmed.

Still deciding?

Three in four people who come leave with follow-ups that matter: a sale, a partnership, an investment or funding.

Thirty minutes with the team answers the rest. Ask anything, from the programme to who else is coming.
