Raising? Meet investors with your eyes open
Two days of face time with angels, funds and lenders, workshops on pitching, the numbers and the terms, and a market picture from the people who write the cheques.
New to ClimbUK? Most founders raising money are. Climb27 is a two-day business festival for companies that are already trading and growing. You meet investors, buyers and advisers in person and book the meetings yourself, and Investor Speed Networking pairs you with investors from your industry for advice and guidance before you pitch to anyone.
What Climb27 does for a founder who is raising
Investors who came to meet you.
Angels, funds and lenders attend Climb27 to meet companies. A large share of the room is investors, from first-cheque angels to LPs, every step of the ladder, from every background.
Ready before you pitch.
The workshops on pitching, the numbers, the board and the terms are run by the investors themselves. You learn what they actually need to see, from the people who decide.
Investor Speed Networking.
A timed round of short meetings with investors from your industry who opted in. Advice and guidance first; the relationship starts there.
Three things you need
What does your raise actually take?
01
Getting in front of investors at all
Investors back trusted sources. Cold applications rarely get a meeting; warm introductions do.
Climb27 is the warm introduction. Investors attend to meet companies, you request meetings and they accept, and the Speed Networking round puts you across a table from investors in your industry. By the evening you have met the people you normally cannot reach.
- Investors at every step of the ladder, listed for you to request
- Investor Speed Networking by industry
- The VIP drinks reception and after parties, where the second conversation happens

02
Being investor-ready
A round often takes well over a year, and most founders learn what investors wanted after the first few rejections.
Learn it first. The readiness workshops are run by active investors: what they look for in the numbers, how they read a board, which terms matter. Then test it in the Speed Networking round the same week.
- Workshops run by the investors who decide
- Pitch feedback without a pitch deck
- A clear picture of what a round takes from people who have closed them
03
Finding the right investor, not just any investor
The wrong money costs more than no money. Founders need investors who understand their sector and stage.
Filter by what you need. Angels, seed and growth funds, banks and lenders all attend, and the networking tools in the ClimbGroup Event App suggest the ones who match your sector and stage before you arrive.
- Angels, funds and lenders in one room
- Matching by sector and stage
- Founders a round ahead of you, willing to say what they would do differently

Who's in the room
Investors come to ClimbUK because the companies are already trading. That is the room you walk into.
Angel investors
- What they bring
- first cheques and the appetite to syndicate with others in the room.
- What they want
- founders they want a relationship with, at the stage they back.
Funds
- What they bring
- seed and growth capital, portfolio experience and a thesis.
- What they want
- companies by sector and stage that fit the fund, and co-investors.
Banks and lenders
- What they bring
- debt, working capital and growth finance for companies that are already trading.
- What they want
- businesses with revenue and a plan, and the advisers who work with them.
Advisers on raising
- What they bring
- legal, finance and pitch expertise, shared in the workshops and on the floor.
- What they want
- founders preparing a round who need the paperwork and the numbers right.
Founders who have raised
- What they bring
- a round of lessons and the names of who said yes.
- What they want
- the next deal, a co-founder, or just a founder to trade notes with.
Councils, universities and programmes
- What they bring
- grants, support schemes, research, spinouts and whole cohorts of founders.
- What they want
- businesses to back, partners to deliver with, and evidence of growth in their patch.

Doors open at 09:00; the evening runs as late as you do.
1
Before
Your ticket unlocks the ClimbGroup Event App. See which investors are coming, request meetings, add Investor Speed Networking to your ticket, and let the networking tools match you by sector and stage.
2
Day one, 30 June
09:00: the grand opening performance, then the investor-readiness workshops and your booked investor meetings. The evening is the VIP drinks reception and the ClimbAwards, which is where the investors you met in the afternoon become people you know.
3
Day two, 1 July
The Investor Speed Networking round, the pitching sessions and the follow-up meetings: day two is when the relationships from day one turn into next steps. wrapped up in the after parties with an unmissable Climb27 experience in the evening. Details to be announced soon.
4
After
Three in four people who come leave with follow-ups that matter: a sale, a partnership, an investment or funding. Yours start before you have left the building: every meeting and contact stays in your account, and the after parties finish the conversations the sessions started.
Business with a party. Not a party for business.
The festival aspect came second. ClimbUK grew out of the Investor Ladder events that have run since 2016, where founders and investors met because they had business to do. We are one of the first business festivals in the UK, built around that: the deals, the introductions and the advice come first, and the opening performance, the ClimbAwards, the drinks receptions and the after parties exist because business gets done faster between people who have enjoyed each other's company.
Investor Speed Networking
A timed round of short meetings with investors who opted in. No deck, no slides, a conversation.
Busk Your Business
Pitch your company to the floor with a microphone and a crowd. Loud, fast and memorable.
ClimbAwards at the VIP drinks reception
One room, the businesses of the year and the people who back them. The ClimbAwards are handed out inside the VIP drinks reception, and that is the night everyone talks about.
Still on the fence?
Yes. Investors come to Climb27 to meet companies, you request meetings and they accept, and the Speed Networking round puts you across a table from investors in your industry. How many you meet is down to your list and how you use the two days.
No, nobody raises in two days. You will leave having met the investors you normally cannot get in front of, and here is the thing investors tell us: walk in looking for a relationship rather than money. In our experience they want to help you find the right person, and will introduce you to people who could change the course of your company.
Buy it alongside any ticket in the shop. We pair you with investors from your industry who opted in, for a timed round of short meetings on day two. The ClimbGroup Event App tells you where to be.
For the meetings, we suggest not. Bring props if your product is physical; otherwise bring your knowledge and know your facts. Most investors hate pitch decks, and a conversation that builds rapport is worth far more than anything on the slides.
There are start-up focused sessions and pitching time, but start-ups are not our bread and butter: ClimbUK is for businesses that are trading and growing. If you want a start-up focused festival we are happy to point you at partners who do it brilliantly, Ideas Fest and Helpbnk among them.
Climb27's programme is curated to what matters in the weeks before the event, and we publish each session once we are certain the room will benefit from it. Some events lock their agenda years out; by the time the doors open the world has moved. In fast-moving fields like AI, a session planned twelve months ahead teaches what every tool you use already does. We would rather hold the slot and fill it with what you need on the day. Tickets bought now cover the full programme, and the main stage moments are announced as they are confirmed.
Still deciding?
Three in four people who come leave with follow-ups that matter: a sale, a partnership, an investment or funding.
Thirty minutes with the team answers the rest. Ask anything, from the programme to who else is coming.
