How to grant other users access to projects

Use this article when you need to toggle the Projects / Tasks sub-user permission for a colleague.

Before you start

  • Open My Projects while signed in to your Climb account.
  • Confirm the teammate already has portal access (`Grant Portal` completed); permissions cannot help a contact who cannot sign in.

Who can do this

Only organisation administrators on the company root see the `Save Permissions` controls described above.

Steps

  1. Although this guide is filed under projects, the controls live on /my/company → open that page first.
  2. Sign in as an organisation administrator who already has Administrate Organization effective.
  3. Find the teammate’s row in the contacts table and press Permissions to expand the inline editor.
  4. Enable Add custom permissions on top of selected roles (AND) when you need granular control beyond their role preset.
  5. Tick the checkbox labelled Projects / Tasks in the custom permission grid.
  6. Press Save Permissions and wait for Contact permissions updated.
  7. Ask the teammate to sign out and back in, then revisit /my/projects to confirm the shared records appear.

Check the result

  • Projects / Tasks stays enabled after reload.
  • The teammate acknowledges they can open the same project IDs you tested.

If something does not work

  • If the permission snaps back, verify Clear all roles on save is not checked and retry after a hard refresh.
  • If the teammate still sees nothing, run through the project’s follower list with your PM—permissions cannot override missing project shares.
